"Rapidly establishing a first-rate reputation this fledgling trio re-created the intimate atmosphere of a drawing-room concert luring the audience into a spellbinding performance, revealing their sensitive approach and coherence. An ability to switch to the moods and styles of composers was both visible and audible. From diaphanous to substantial, potent to visionary the three young players coaxed every nuance from the music. Barely-sighed pianissimos dissolved into contrasting flamboyant piano chords and lively vigorous rhythms."
This is Gloucester, Roses Theatre, April 2013"The exciting Hepplewhite Piano Trio with Amy Littlewood on violin, Hetti Price on cello, and Fan Yu on piano launched into Shostakovich’s Piano Trio no.1, exhibiting a gracious but fun-loving rapport amongst themselves which edified all the varying characteristics of the piece. Blending deliciously, the trio leapt into cat-like pizzicatos, thunderous footsteps, and dissonant descents that swirled into Rachmaninov-like lyricism, revealing an architecture of music which has become such a token of Shostakovich’s signature sound. They displayed a maturity that represented years of dedicated work but not at the expense of an evergreen enthusiasm; they masqueraded their territory with a vigour that was uncompromising."
BachTrack, Truro Chapel, April 2012"The real ear-opener of the evening was Martinu’s Concertino for Piano Trio and String Orchestra, H232. This spiky and often exhilaratingly mechanistic example of mid-1930s quirkiness (though the brooding Adagio conveyed darker ideas) rattled along with real zing, brilliantly played by the three soloists."
Birmingham Post, Adrian Boult Hall, April 2012"A well balanced programme began with Haydn’s delightful Trio in G. An 18th century approach was beautifully crafted throughout by violinist Amy Littlewood, matched by sensitive partnership from cellist Hetti Price. Technique was dazzling throughout."
